The Sixty Watt Club

THE STORY SO FAR... The Sixty Watt Club formed in December 2005 when singer-songwriter Will Hicks linked up with drummer and brother JJ to jam some through new song ideas following the end of their previous Bristol-based funk-pop outfit Jacoola. After seeing bass player and long time friend Josh Watkins play in a local Battle of the Bands with his rock band Stryder, it was clear that there was only one man fit to lock down the rhythm section, and soon the three piece began working on song ideas and jamming blues classics from the likes of Freddie King, John Scofield and John Mayer. The Sixty Watt Club brings together the boys that played in their first ever band together, as part of The Breadsnappers who took the 1996 Leominster Fringe Festival by storm, at the tender age of just 13. The Sixty Watt sound is striking in its freshness and originality, combining influences from modern blues, Motown soul-funk and classic rock to create something that is not only powerful and energetic, but also melodic and soulful. A cheeky swaggering groove meets with a good-time vibe and invasive hooks, to give you tunes you just cant help feeling good about. The Sixty Watt sound is coming your way soon!
